Sorry, I have to let you know that there are risks to rope bondage even though it’s so much fun.
Warnings for Rope Bondage:
Panic Attacks/ Asthma: Over-stressing can cause panic attacks or trigger asthma attack. If someone who has a weak heart has a panic attack they can have a heart attack, and remembering that someone who is experiencing intense fear can suddenly die.
Circulation: Restraints the are too tight can reduce the flow of blood this can be to the brain, which can cause the brain to die so avoid the neck when you are tying. Also tying too tight around the hand can lead to tissue damage.
Nerve Damage: With the lack of circulation causing limbs to ‘fall asleep’ when this is for an extended amount of time it can cause nerve damage, but you can recover from limbs that have For more information on nerve damage caused by bondage click here.
Types of Rope
There are a variety of fabrics used during bondage and I’m sure that everyone has there own preference to what they like to use during bondage: nylon, jute, hemp, cotton, linen, and polyester.
I prefer a 1/2 inch braided cotton rope which is soft and thick enough not to inadvertently cut off circulation, and would be good if you plan to suspend someone since it’s strong enough.
Why Is Bondage Fun?
For me bondage is both stimulating and intimate for both participants. Shibari especially a for sensual rope bondage is my favorite there are other forms of bondage besides rope bondage: metal, leather, and robe. I also like being handcuffed and being ball gagged.
For some bondage is a fetish which they like to indulge in during their free time, and for others bondage (like Shibari) is a piece of culture that has been practiced for centuries.
